Fields are open – June 27th

The city of Markham has provided green light to use the soccer fields with caution. Below is the official communication:

Safety firstBylaw staff have provided an update to indicate that the dangerous animals have not been seen since Tuesday afternoon despite considerable efforts by YRP, OSPCA and Bylaw staff to locate them.  Therefore, we have agreed to allow permit holders to use the parks again but with extreme caution.    Operations staff have posted signs as attached to remind residents to be on alert and to not go into woodlots.  Please advise staff and contractors to do the same — be aware of surroundings and if they see two dogs or coyotes to seek shelter and call 911.  The City and OSPCA  will continue its efforts to find those dangerous animals by patrolling and monitoring those areas.    Bylaw staff will be posted at the sports fields over the next few nights during permitted use as an added precaution.
