Adult Outdoor Soccer 2014 Registration

The Thornhill Soccer Club’s Adult Outdoor Soccer League for 2014 will consist of the following:

  • 4 divisions of Open Age Men’s teams with a maximum of 8 teams in each division
  • 1 division of Over-30 teams (6 team maximum)
  • 1 to 2 divisions of Over-35 teams (6 team maximum in each division or 8 team maximum if 1 division)
  • 1 to 2 divisions of Over-40 teams (6 team maximum in each division or 8 team maximum if 1 division)
  • 1 division of Open Age Ladies with a minimum of 6 teams

If there is sufficient interest, we will offer a Men’s Under-21 league with a minimum of 6 teams.

If there is sufficient interest, we will offer a 7v7 Co-ed league played on a smaller field.

We want to guarantee a minimum of 18 games to each team; this includes regular season games and cup games (using a round robin format).  We expect to start playing no later than the week immediately after Victoria Day in May with some games starting in early May on the turf field at the St. Robert’s CHS.  The season ends in early October.

On the following page is a grid describing some of the details of each division.

We will be able to free up some field time during the week (Monday to Thursday) this year and want to schedule games for the Over-30, Over-35 and Over-40 leagues on these time slots.  These games at Bishop’s Cross, Huntington Park and the turf field at St. Robert’s CHSare mostly 9:15 pm start times with some 7:30 start times.

Please provide, on the attached sheet, information as to day and time preferences for your team and we will take this into account when schedules are developed.  When schedules are issued, please indicate if there are significant problems with some of these time slots and we will attempt to accommodate, if possible.

All games will once again be officiated by a referee and two assistants.  We are also planning to have a convenor at each field who will be the official representative of the Thornhill Soccer Club at all times.

The cost for each team this year is $3,450 plus a $250 or $100 team bond (please refer to attached sheet).  A deposit of $500 must accompany each team application in order for the team to be accepted into the appropriate league.  If a team withdraws after April 30th, all funds paid will be forfeit, except for the refundable $250 bond, if paid.

All Team fees and team bonds must be paid prior to a team being able to play!  This will be strictly enforced this year with no exceptions!

Registration form will be available soon.

Please note: if a team requires a field for practice, the cost for a full-size field will be $350 and the cost for a mini-size field will be $195 for the season.  Practice fields can only be guaranteed after all field assignments have been done for the youth teams (after May 15).  Contact the club if your team needs a practice field.

Notes:

  • A player may play on more than 1 team as long as the other team(s) is not in the same division
  • In the event of ‘inter-divisional’ play, the player must indicate his/her ‘prime’ team prior to any game; and, once he/she has played on a team, the player is ‘committed’ to that team for the remainder of the competition and may not switch to another team

  • In the event that a team does not have a sufficient bond amount left in the account and a player is fined, the fine must be paid before the player is allowed to play in a game.
  • In the event that a team does not have a sufficient bond amount left in the account and the team is fined, the fine must be paid before the team is allowed to play in a game.

  • The game fee for each team is roughly $200 per team per game.
  • In the event that a team cannot field a minimum number of players and has not informed the league within 24 hours of the game, the team forfeits the game; the team will be fined the referee fee of $100 plus the game fee of $200.

  • The increase in the cost of fields was expected at 5%; however, with the change in cost/game now being cost/hour, the effective rate is 17.5%
