Established in 1973, the Thornhill Soccer Club is thrilled to once again offer outstanding soccer opportunities to the Thornhill community. Operating as a not-for-profit, community-based organization, our operations heavily rely on dedicated volunteers, supported by a professional staff compensated for their services. These services encompass managing financial and administrative tasks, collaborating with various associations and leagues, mentoring referees, providing technical training to coaches and players, and offering on-field support such as net installation, game scheduling, website updates, and other responsibilities.
Our steadfast commitment to coaching excellence is a foundational aspect, with a particular focus on the younger age groups to ensure they receive age-appropriate guidance at the onset of their soccer journey.
Despite the increase in operational costs, we have upheld our current rates.
Important Dates:
- Start Date: Week of May 25th.
- End Date: Week of August 17th.
- Closure Dates: Wednesday, July 1, and Monday, August 3.

Thunder Starters- U4/U5 Division for Children Born in 2022 & 2021
Starters Program Details:
Co-ed
Parents are encouraged to participate with their child
Sessions are conducted by technical staff once a week with the option for 2 days (Tuesday or Thursday)
Sessions will consist of basic technical skills, learning basic knowledge of soccer through fun activities, culminating with 3 versus 3 games
6:30 pm – 7:30 pm at the Bayview Reservoir (next to Thornlea High School)
May 26th (Tuesday group) or May 28th (Thursday group)
Registration Includes:
- Soccer ball
- Full uniform (jersey, soccer shorts & soccer socks)
- Award presentations – Aug. 18th or 20th

Thunder Fundamentals U6/U7/U8 division for Children Born 2020/2019/2018
Fundamentals Program Details:
Separate divisions for boys and girls (Depending on the number of children registered)
Technical staff will supervise divisions with parent volunteers to assist with coaching teams
Sessions conducted 2 days/week (1 practice and 1 game – Games format 5 versus 5)
6:30 pm – 7:30 pm at the Bayview Reservoir (next to Thornlea High School)
Tuesday and Thursday; first session May 26th
Registration Includes:
- Soccer Ball
- Full uniform (jersey, shorts & socks)
- Award presentations – Aug. 20th

Thunder Development U9/U10/U11/U12 Division for Children Born 2017, 2016, 2015 & 2014
Development Program Details:
Girls sessions on Tuesday and Thursday – First session May 26th
Boys sessions on Monday and Wednesday – First session May 25th
Technical staff will supervise divisions with parent volunteers to assist with coaching teams
The program will consist of 1 technical session and 1 game a week with officials
U9/U10 age group 7 versus 7 games (Thursday for Girls; Wednesday for Boys)
U11/U12 age group 9 versus 9 games Thursday for Girls; Wednesday for Boys)
6:30 pm – 7:30 pm at the Bayview Reservoir (next to Thornlea High School)
Registration Includes:
- Soccer ball
- Full uniform (jersey, shorts & socks)
- Award presentations – Aug. 19th or 20th

Thunder for Life aged 13-18 (born 2013-2008 inclusive)
Program Overview:
- Age Range: 13-19 years old (born 2013-2008)
- Sessions: Twice per week (match & practice)
- League Participation: U14 Girls, U14 Boys, U16 Boys, and U18 Girls will participate in a local York Region interclub league with other recreational teams.
- Field Locations: Home games will be held at Thornhill SC fields in our home area. Away games will be played throughout York Region
- Season Schedule: Pre-season begins the week of May 19 (weather permitting), and the regular season starts the week of May 26 based on your designated evenings.
- End of Season Tournaments: Dates vary by age group (see below for details).
- Uniform: All players will receive a full uniform (jersey, shorts, socks) provided by the club.
- Team Equipment: Each team will be provided with team balls for training/matches.
Coach Incentive:
- Volunteer coaches will receive a $150 discount on their child’s registration fees or a $150 honorarium if they do not have a child on the team.
Youth House League Program Details:
- U14 Boys: Born 2013 & 2012 – Practice Day: Tuesday, Match Day: Thursday
- U14 Girls: Born 2013 & 2012 – Practice Day: Monday, Match Day: Wednesday
- U16 Boys: Born 2011 & 2010 – Match Day: Tuesday, Practice Day: Thursday
- U18 Girls: Born 2011, 2010, 2009 & 2008 – Match Day: Monday, Practice Day: Wednesday
