Welcome to the 2018 Thornhill Soccer Club House League Season.

The 2018 House League seasons starts during the week of May 21 and ends with the Soccer Festival on Saturday August 25.

Our Spring House League program is open to boys and girls born from 2000 through 2014.

Players in the U6 through U18 divisions will have two sessions per week while our U4/5 program with children born in 2014, will have one soccer session per week.

Teams in the TSC House League program play against each other in a rotating game schedule over the course of the season.

Players receive a TSC uniform (jersey, shorts and socks) and a ball.

The TSC House League program is, like all our programs, open to all families. You do not have to live in the City of Thornhill to join our club.

Game and Practice Location

All sessions will be conducted at the Bayview Reservoir unless otherwise indicated.

Uniform Requirements

All players must wear shin guards and have water with them at all training sessions.

You may make a teammate or coach request during online registration.  While we make every effort to work with your request, please understand these requests are not guaranteed. Emailed and verbal requests to TSC staff will not be honoured. When asking to play with another child, we need the child’s full name and are unable to look them up from past seasons.

Interested in Coaching?

All our House League coaches are volunteers. Mostly moms, dads and relatives who love the game, want to be involved and give back to the kids, club and sport. Some of our coaches have extensive soccer experience, while others could be new to the game. If you are interested in being a House League coach, please indicate that during the registration process of your child.

Coaches are expected to run the weekly training session and coach all games.

TSC provides the coaches with a curriculum and age specific lesson plans to support all coaches. We also provide a lot of information on our website.

Before the season starts, on May 1, 2018, TSC will host a House League coach’s meeting/clinic at St. Robert CHS Soccer Facility. During this meeting/clinic we will inform the coaches about all procedures, but also go on the field and run through some training sessions.  Meeting/session will run from 7:00 pm – 9:00 pm.

Who are the Voting Members

Membership shall include annually registered players, team officials, elected Board of Directors and positions appointed by the Executive, parents or guardians and sponsors.

The Election Nominations to the Board of Directors shall be provided to the Secretary in writing ten (10) days prior to the Annual General Meeting.  For this year, we set the deadline for nomination to November 19, 2017.

Constitution Changes

1) To eliminate the limiting of board members to specific terms, such as  serving a maximum number of terms, the following amendments are suggested:

5.11: add the following: A director may continue to seek the same position without limitation on the number of times elected.

5.14: eliminate the following: The President may be appointed or elected to a maximum of 2 (two) consecutive three year terms of office, or a total of 6 years.

5, 15: eliminate the item.

2) To reduce the size of the board to a more manageable number, the following positions are hereby eliminated:

The Thornhill Soccer Club is saddened to announce the sudden passing of long time member Corrine Hamilton on Tuesday September 26^th, 2017.  Corrine was involved with youth soccer in York Region since the mid-eighties and served on various soccer boards across the region. She leaves behind her husband Russell, currently the adult administrator at the Thornhill Soccer Club, and her two sons Stephen and Patrick.

Visitation will be at the Jerrett Funeral Home, 6191 Yonge Street, Toronto, south of Steeles Ave, 416-223-6050, on Monday October 2nd from 2-4p.m. and 7-9p.m .Complete Funeral Service will be held in the Chapel on Tuesday October 3rd at 11a.m. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Canada.
